To all of our wonderful companion Labrador families over the years, this spring 2025 class is our last.
For personal and family reasons, we have decided to end our Companion Labrador program and retire our school.
It has been a great run! Steve started training dogs in 1988, driving out to clients in his red Camaro, doing
in-home private lessons in the Chicago area. He also worked with the Chicago police department, training their K9s.
Within a few years, he opened a daycare and training school in Chicago, continuing to offer private lessons, running group
classes at the lake, and providing one of the first free-style doggie daycare spots in the city. This is where we met.
In 2008, we started our Family Companion Labrador program in WIsconsin, which has been very successful over the years.
We sent our first graduates out into the world in 2009. We have well over 500 Labrador bubs placed in loving homes all over the
country. It has been a true privilege to watch each of our Labradors grow, thrive, and bring so much joy to their families.
While this chapter is coming to a close, the memories, friendships, and the lasting impact we've shared together will always be cherished.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being part of this incredible journey. We wish all of our Koven Labrador families and their
bubs continued happiness and tummy rubs in the years to come.
